Great news! BCB Biometric Credit Bureau (now awamo) has been awarded with the IKT innovativ Award 2015 from the Federal Ministry for for Economic Affairs and Energy. During the award ceremony of startup competition “IKT Innovativ” (innovative ICT) Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, Brigitte Zypries, named awamo (at that time still BCB Biometric Credit Bureau) one of the 17 winners. awamo convinced the reputable jury its IT solution-based business model has the potential to improve access to finance for millions of people in sub-Saharan Africa by reducing lending risk and lowering transaction costs. More than 250 startup companies participated in the contest.
